JAZZ is only a minor element in this showcase for Congolese guitarist/singer Danial Isakongo (pic far left), who is now based in the UK.
The prevailing style is soukouss, the infectious dance music of Central Africa. the lengthy tracks build up a real head of steam, fuelled by the energetic percussion.

In 2003 the cultural mish mash that makes up Gloucester's music scene produced a truly explosive band - when a Congolese guitar virtuoso and his south African wife joined forces with a city raised rock drummer and Rasta percussionist. They played everywhere last summer - pubs, clubs and outdoor festivals throughout Gloucestershire and beyond to Bristol and Herefordshire - Explosive intoxicated their audiences. young and old, black and white, everyone was fired up by their uplifting soukouss and reggae sounds. Patsy Gamble is a full time professional musician with extensive experience performing live and in the recording studio. She has performed and recorded all over the UK and in France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Poland and in the Middle East with many different artists including Steve Winwood, Mick Jagger, Ruby Turner, Jasper Carrott, Grand Drive, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Eugene 'Hideaway' Bridges, Paddy Milner, Eddie Martin, Keith Thompson, Dolly James and supported artists such as John Mayall,  Peter Green, The Gypsy Kings, Gloria Gaynor and Sister Sledge. Patsy also works as a session musician with one of the UK’s top horn sections: The Little Big Horns whose clients have included Yorkshire TV, Channel 4, Chappell Music, Carlton and Bruton Music.
